The Wilmette Welfare board at Village Hall appointed Mrs. John C. Blaylock to succeed Mrs. Lillian D. Northam as social worker and truant officer. Blaylock, of 1215 Elmwood Avenue, previously directed unemployment relief work and worked with Northam on social service duties.
The New Trier High School summer session ends Friday August 11 with nearly 400 students enrolled. Teachers report excellent work despite extreme heat. The fall term is tentatively set to start September 11.

Wilmette Health department reports a mild outbreak with two cases of whooping cough and one case of infantile paralysis. The paralysis patient is an adult. overall illness is described as mild.
Village president C P Dobbs names Trustee Arthur Lee as representative at a meeting called by the Chamber of Commerce next Monday night to organize the machinery to carry on the national recovery program in Wilmette.
