Swedish Lutheran church at Cokato dedicates new building

The Swedish Lutheran church of Cokato marked its fortieth anniversary late last week and on Sunday September 18 dedicated a new church building costing 18900 dollars, all funded by subscriptions. Rev. and Mrs. G. Peterson attended part of the services. Editor Joubert of the Litehfield News Ledger suffered a severe runaway injury last week. He was thrown from a buggy, hit on the head, neck wrenched, face bruised, and hand sprained. he rests at home recovering. The Mission church Young People society plans a program next Friday in the church basement with refreshments by Mrs. Swan Anderson.

Willmar to Welcome Agen Company Creamery Expansion

The John B. Agen Company plans a Willmar creamery with a 74 by 64 foot two story plant, expanding from the basement to larger quarters next spring at a $10,000 plus cost. Local manager Curran will select equipment in the Twin Cities, aiming to begin by October 15, with milk from within 100 miles and a payroll to more than double from about $200 weekly. The firm already handles 73 carloads of butter and eggs and supplies a large Pacific coast and Alaska market.

Freshmen Blushing Noted As Characteristic

Florence Benson hosted the Lucky Thirteen last Saturday with a pleasant evening and refreshments. Examinations loom as students study. Sophomores met in Room 6 Friday. Sophomore cooking class visited Willmar mill. Football is king with open-game emphasis and a six-game schedule including Montrose and St Cloud. Team line-up, captains, and travel plans are tentatively listed for October through November.

Pastor Installed At Christine and Fridsborg Lutheran Churches

Rev. Alexander Peterson was installed as the first resident pastor for Christine and Fridsborg Lutherans, with services in Christine and Fridsborg attended by many. The event, led by Rev. G. Peterson, marked a hopeful pastorate after years without a resident pastor. Both congregations unite around about 100 communicants and two church buildings with seating for 250 and 150 respectively.

A Pretty Wedding At The Nelson Home

Miss Amy Nelson served as maid of honor with Miss Ettie Mattson and Miss Hilma Swenson as bridesmaids in white. The groom's attendants were Harry Nelson and Edward Jundberg. A ceremony and reception at the Nelson home featured green and white streamers and garden flowers, followed by an elegant lawn dinner. Mr and Mrs Johnson plan to reside in Willmar at 416 10th Street.
