The War Relic Train drew huge crowds as it visited the Northwest for a three hour exhibit. William Ryder of the Ninth Federal Reserve Bank spoke on the Fourth Liberty Loan while Julius Brian and Trouper OConnor shared wartime experiences. A 25 piece detachment from the Sixth Naval Regimental Band performed to enthusiastic applause before the train moved on to Litchfield.

Enoch Hoglund born February 26 1896 in Willmar died after volunteering in 1917 when war began. The Home Guards gave a military burial with firing squad taps by Kenneth Wakefield and a grave service with Odette singing. Comrade Peter Plinck arrived too late for the funeral. both were early volunteers from Great Northern offices. The Willmar Tribune urges subscriptions to send papers to soldiers in camps.
