The Kandiyoti county fair runs Wednesday through Saturday with exhibits, racing, and musical acts. Local clubs including the Farm Club and the New London Concert Band join the event alongside vendors and missing details about dates and participants.

The Willmar Minnesota City Council met September 11 1916 with Mayor Wellin and Aldermen Olson Millard Rasmussen Norman Erickson ab John son Martin and Sperry present. Various ordinances were read approved and adopted including fireworks restrictions licensing passenger for hire and fire equipment funding. Extensions to the sanitary sewer requested by N A Jensen were approved conditionally and permits granted for new connections. A sidewalk notice and committee to discuss street rates were set before adjourning to September 18 1916.
Willmar Minnesota board of education met September 8 1916 at Banke of Willmar to fill the vacancy from Rev Michaelsons resignation O K Severinson won an informal ballot all present votes and was declared elected until the next annual meeting Also noted was an activity of the Svea Lutheran church youth society with a program featuring readings music and speeches.
Miss Esther Somerville was pleasantly surprised by about thirty friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Parmeter Saturday evening. Amberda concert and refreshments followed. Somerville received money and a keepsake, then left Sunday for her school in Dist. No. 63N.

Attendees include Alfred Gilverteen, Alma Lindgren, C W Odell family, Sigurd Moe, Arthur Hustad, Aleda Dahleen, and many others, with schooling moves and hospital visits, and several returning from trips to state fairs and universities.

Obituaries for Mrs Walter Johnson and Mrs Anna Syverson note deaths in Tulsa and Rolling Fork Pope County with funeral details and survivors.
Mamre locals including Mr and Mrs F O Carlson and daughters Alice Martha and Lydia Cariberg Mrs Andrew Olson and Paul Swanson attended the state fair. Dist 14 opens with teachers Hannah Oslind Alma Wangeness and Josie Owens at local schools. Sunday visits to Danielson and Hagman homes noted. Lundby church Young People's Society set program for Saturday September 16 with audience songs quartette scripture reading and prayer. Collection aids a native missionary in China.
Rev M B Michaelson preached a farewell sermon at the Lutheran Free Church. In the afternoon a farewell reception honored the retiring pastor and his wife. K T Rykken opened remarks, the Dovre choir sang, Helga Petterson gave two solos, and a church choir performed. Rykken presented a purse near three hundred dollars as a token of esteem. Lunch followed in the basement with brief talks by Rev E O Larson. Each member received a picture of the Michaelson family from the couple.
Pelace Grocery Co and partners announce cessation of kerosene and gasoline delivery after Sept 16. Oil business to be handled by Arnold Johnson starting Sept 18 with a four compartment tank offering Standard or Bartles-Scott oil, cash sales only. Phone 731 for needs after Sept 16.
Willmar Day will be observed at Kandiyohi County Fair next Thursday with a merchant shutdown for noon to allow employees to attend. The program features Aviator Milla’s airship, a county trotting race, and other attractions. merchants sign a closing agreement for the day. A lawn social by the Philathea Class and a church supper by Little Helpers are also listed with menus and times.
