Allene and Harrison Sherwood presided over a society gathering with mentions of Miss Lillie Noren and several guests including Atlan Marion Lewis Adgar Sather Riis Amy Hanscom Victor Kautson Haines and Mrs. Dobbyn at the escola Little Harold Handy venue.
Geo. H. Stephens has resigned as night policeman and his resignation has been accepted by Mayor Qvale. Alfred Gilbertson appointed acting night policeman. Rev. b. a. sxoguergnormim to speak on Vignel virgen or Vilkover fir Aktenataplig lycka at the Norwegian Lutheran Free church with 25 cent admission. Services to follow Saturday and Sunday. Meetings also planned by Ladies' Aid, Young People's society, and Sunday School teachers at local homes as repairs proceed.
Willmar announces the annual street fair and carnival opening next Wednesday with exhibits across Litchfield avenue and Benson avenue. Attractions include Ajax the high diver, Diagolo Leaping the Death Chasm, six tent shows, and a parade if weather allows. Local hotels and restaurants prepare to accommodate visitors as crowds from nearby counties are expected.

The village awarded a 6300 dollar contract to W. J. Gray & Co for a two hundred horsepower Ideal engine and Warren Alternator plus fixtures to expand the municipal light plant. Seven bids were reviewed with D. M. Gilmore Co and Westinghouse among bidders. the award to Gray & Co follows engineer C. L. Pillsbury's specifications. The project aims to meet rising demand, improve efficiency, and be paid from plant earnings by year end.
Last Saturday at 8 an evening ceremony united Mina Nel son and Herbert Englund at Rev G Petersons residence in a small private wedding. Alma Nelson served as bridesmaid and Walter Englund brother of the groom acted as best man. A morning reception followed at the bride's brother Mia Nelsons home in Eagle Lake with many friends presenting gifts. The bride a Bayle Lake resident and daughter of Mrs Johanna Nelson is popular locally. the groom son of Mr and Mrs Wm England of Whitefield attended Willmar Seminary and now works as a bookkeeper for New London Milling Co. They will reside in this city and begin housekeeping upstairs in the Wenherlund home on Litchfield Avenue.
The Anderson Land Company sold the E G Freeman farm near Pennock to a buyer from Town and Olof Lindahl’s house in Fourth Ward Willmar to Mrs Bias Johnson of Marre. They also disposed of J F Montag’s farm in St Johns to a party from Moline Illinois. Andrew Nordloef left for Tinois on firm business. New contracts for three buildings were awarded, including a bank building for Dakota Development at Antler North Dakota, a general store for Walen Bros at Macomber, and an elevator for Raymond for New London Milling. Construction has started on all. Christie Larson of Lake Lillian died suddenly after a visit to Atwater. Mele Newon showcased a combined haystacker manure loader and grain elevator at the state fair, drawing strong dealer and farmer interest. A wreck near Waysats Station on the Great Northern delayed trains, causing stock damage and about twelve cattle killed.
