Willmar State Farm praised by Minnesota Board of Control

The Minnesota State Board of Control inspectors called the State Farm at Willmar the finest in the state noting exceptional crops with wheat around 25 bushels per acre and corn at 75 bushels per acre. They discussed using the superintendent’s cottage as a separate hospital for women inmates and praised Supt. Freeman's management while stressing a need for more publicity of the institution. The board returned to the capital by afternoon train.

County Fair Opens At Assembly Park Next Week

Dangerous plaything kills child near Willmar

Rudolph aged five son of Mr and Mrs Otto Schippenewski of Woods town west of Willmar died Friday morning when a rifle discharged while children played in the yard. His sister took the loaded gun from him and the bullet passed through Rudolph’s body, exiting beneath the left shoulder. The family mourns this tragedy and cautions on dangerous firearms.

A northern Kandiyohi County home burned destroying contents and cash. A man found ashes of his pocket book money and sent them to a bank in Washington where $63.00 in new bills were redeemed for him. The tale ends with a moral to deposit money in the bank and avoid hiding funds at home.
