Tallman dispersal sale looms at state fair grounds

D N Tallman ships fine herd of pure bred horses and cattle to the state fair last Saturday. His dispersion sale at the fair grounds today and tomorrow promises one of the fair’s major livestock events. Auctioneer Jacob F Jacobson of Madison and J O Malmberg of Atwater supervise the sale with full details to be announced in the Tribune next week. The Tallman herd loss will affect local livestock displays at the Street Fair.

Progress of the Willmar 1909 Street Fair

Freshmen will study manual training while the morning session runs 9 to 12 and the afternoon 1 30 to 3 45. Enrollment nears 175 with more expected. Senior Review combines American history English grammar geography and arithmetic, taught by Mr Tanning and Miss Dunn, counting as two subjects.

The fund for the 1909 Street Fair lists cash subscriptions received so far with many supporters yet to be seen. The committee hopes totals will rise next week as more Willmar residents are approached. The completed list will reveal who wants the fair and the level of contribution aligned with means and business activity.

Charged With Sale Of Booze In New London Case

Nels Haramoen of New London faces a next grand jury action after being bound over on charges of illegally selling intoxicating liquor. Sheriff Ronde secured a warrant, Haramoen waived examination in municipal court, bail set at 200 dollars, and bondsmen August Nordstedt and Edw. Langstrom joined for the next term. The case hints at a stock kept at his residence and beer parties as part of the alleged operation.
