Jens Nelson, 29, a single man from Harbo Jylland Denmark, was killed Friday when a ditch cave-in at the Dr. Lester Porter farm near Atwater collapsed. Found at 5:30 by Porter and Charles Kalberg, he died instantly from a skull fracture. Nelson had been working alone on a tile line and had been warned to take an assistant. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Natives of Denmark, Nelson and two Atwater associates share origin.
