Mrs Nelson and son return from long North Dakota Canada trip

Mrs Samuel Nelson and her son Vincent returned last Saturday after a six week visit to North Dakota and Canada. They visited her father L A Freeberg and Emil Freeberg of Kenmare and her brother Victor Freeberg of Limerick, Canada, along with other relatives and friends. She sends cordial greetings through the Tribune to friends in the county.

All male residents aged eighteen to under forty six must register September 12. In Willmar City they register at the Court House from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Those in townships or villages register at their usual voting places or designated sites. County Registration Board.

Missing Soldier Returns From War In 1918 Notice

Henry Freese of Raymond reported missing in Monday's action has returned from No man s Land with non serious wounds. Father John Freese in Chippewa County confirms the news from Government sources. Henry enlisted September and worked for Mr Stob as a tractor driver.

Federal Reserve Bank Gains Kandiyah County Charter

The Kandiyah County Bank has qualified as a Federal Reserve Bank. President Millard cited patriotic reasons for the move and said the step will enhance the prestige of this large financial institution in Willmar.

Immense Willmar Home Guards Sworn In At Fairgrounds

A large crowd at the Willmar fairgrounds witnessed the swearing in of the local Home Guards unit, Company G of the Ninth Battalion, Minnesota Home Guards. Major Hopeman and Adj. Peterson led ceremonies with speeches by Mayor Wellin, Judge Gilbert, and Rev. Oehler. Guests praised the Willmar company, funds were raised for uniforms, and a dinner invitation followed.

Wet Autoists Caught On Line In Kandiyohi

Sheriff Bondo and Deputy Olson nabbed six parties crossing from wet Stearns into dry Kandiyohi. Two Willmar pairs, two more on Monday, plus two Clara City loads, were seized after a five mile chase. Booze stored in the county jail. each offender fined $20 and costs or 20 days in jail. fines paid. Authorities urge citizen tips to curb the traffic.
