The Y P S of Bethel Lutheran church will hold a September social in the church basement on Wednesday evening next week. A literary and musical program is planned with refreshments by L G Lundvall and W E Lawson. All are invited to support the society.

Has Gone To His Reward B F Jenness Dies In Willmar

B F Jenness, longtime Willmar resident and public official, died at his home August 2 after a long illness. Born in Dover New Hampshire August 30 1888 he taught in Dodge and other Minnesota districts before settling in Willmar in 1873. He held roles from village attorney to county surveyor and served in the Presbyterian church, with a large funeral held Sunday at his residence and burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Willmar Seminary Adds Telegraphy Department and Railway Training

Willmar Seminary will open a telegraphy course next school year with a railroad station practice track. A 60 day program aims to qualify students for station duties, backed by a contract with Great Northern Railway to place qualified graduates. J W Hays of Osakis leads the new department. Rev E Vaaler acts as principal during the term. Fall term begins Oct 1, with rolling admissions for eager youths seeking railway work opportunities.

Teachers Examinations Complete in Kandiyohi County

County Superintendent Albert Struxness reports sixty two percent of applicants passed the recent teachers exams. Tragic death of Verna Cecelia Rannestad at age under two

Verna Cecelia Rannestad, daughter of Peter and Lovisa Rannestad, died Friday at their North Seventh Street home from dysentery she was born October 26, 1905 and was less than two years old funeral services were held at their house and Synod church with Rev. J N Anderson officiating interment in Synod cemetery east of the city the family receives public sympathy in their bereavement.

Young People Meeting at Lutheran Free Church

The Lutheran Free church Young People's society holds a Friday evening gathering in the church basement on September 6 at eight o'clock. Program includes hymn, scripture reading, prayers, solos by J T Otos and Karen Hanson, piano duet by Hazel Peterson and Bernice Severinson, recitation by Hazel Peterson, and an address by Rev. Gustaf Peterson followed by refreshments. About three hundred tickets to Minneapolis sold since Sunday. attendance to State Fair diminished by farm work. Monson returns after illness.

Death of Erick Olson at Eagle Lake area after long illness

A memorial note reports Erick Olson aged about 63 died at 3 a.m. after a year-long dropsical illness. Born in Kongsvinger Norway December 21 1840 he came to the US in 1862 and settled near Eagle Lake in Green Lake township. He leaves wife Lina Erickson and fifteen children with several grandchildren. Funeral plans pending with services expected at the Eagle Lake church.

Rev Lindholm resigns Tripolis Lutheran pastorate

Rev S A Lintholm read his resignation as pastor of the Swedish Lutheran Tripolis church last Sunday. He has several calls but has not yet decided which to accept. He has served twelve and a half years, arriving from Moorhead in May 1895. He will stay until autumn. His family and he are deeply regretted by many friends.

Arrested for Drunkenness in Willmar Court

Peter Asp of this city appeared in Willmar municipal court last Monday charged with drunkenness. He allegedly struck patrolman Christen von, fell on the curb, and received a fine and costs totaling 18.50 dollars. The liquor found with him was purchased in Litchfield, raising questions about local saloon control.
