General Hospital drive urged by Willmar leaders

Dr. R O Beard of the University of Minnesota College of Medicine will keynote a large mass meeting in Willmar Kandiyohi county supporting a General Hospital. Local figures including Qvale Jacobs Frost Benson and Judge Gilbert push business and professional backing with about $8000 raised. Gov Rice cites benefits of a city hospital and a mass meeting at the Masonic Temple is set for Thursday November 3 at eight o'clock.

Liberty Loan totals reach 382000 in Kandiyohi County

The Liberty Loan bond sale in Kandiyohi County fell short of the target but yielded a substantial sum. The county chairman reports detailed subscriptions by subcounties towns wards banks and villages totaling 38250 0 with Willmar City contributing 251600 and numerous banks and individuals across the county adding substantial amounts.

Food Economy Urged For War Effort In Minnesota

Fatal auto accident on Raymond road near Raymond

A noon crash on Raymond road between Swan Nelson and Oscar Johnson's properties killed M. A. Fruehling the driver. Four occupants were injured including Mrs. Jennie Fruehling, son Edwin unconscious, daughter Irene bruised, and the wife’s broken shoulder blade. The car overturned and was found on its roof. An ambulance and Dr Branton treated survivors at Willmar hospital. Ernest Gibbs traveled from St. Cloud. J A Bodum was in the city Monday.
