Joint Educational Meeting in Kandiyohi and Stearns Area
A joint meeting of teachers and school officers in Kandiyohi and Stearns counties will be held at Belgrade next Saturday. The program runs 10:00 A M with talks on school decorations supplies and libraries language and grammar teaching and a 1:30 business session. St Agnes Guild of St Luke's church hosts a Hallowe'en social at the Rectory next Saturday evening with refreshments for 10 cents and invites all to attend.

Narrow escape as Hotel Francois burns in Redwood Falls
Minnesota Central Telephone linemen Jonah Gould Robert Gyler Albert and Theodore Torkelaan barely escaped the blaze that destroyed the three story Hotel Francois and damaged the Houghmaster block. Guests fled in night clothes as flames and smoke swept through the hotel neighborhood. Losses totaled about 125000 with over 50000 insured. hotel furnishings valued at 40000 were fully lost. Telephone company losses included tallman estimate of 300 to 400. Fire believed driven by a stiff wind.

Local students organize a literary and dramatic society and anticipate a month or two of springlike activities. A Swedish Methodist church grants ground use for a Willmar school championship tennis tournament. The basketball team secured a second win over Seminary, in which four ex-High School players from Seminary influenced the score. Football practice continues with hopes of stronger showings against nearby teams. The team lineup includes Adams, Fridland, Gilbertson, Knutgon, Princell, Johnson, Martin, Lindner, Lies, Bigg, Carlson, and captain Carlson, with Prof Tonning as manager.

Pretty wedding at Svea Lutheran church in Fablan
A large crowd attended a Sunday afternoon ceremony at Svea Lutheran church in Fablan where Misa Ida Granquist and Martin Blomquist were married. Rev J O Lundberg officiated, organist Prof Albert Hagstrom led music, and the reception followed at the Granquist home with about 173 guests and generous gifts. The couple will reside in this city.

The Willmar committee announces a four act lecture and entertainment program at the opera house headlined by Herbert L. Cope on Wednesday November 4 and including Fergusons Dizie Jubilee Slogers, the Columbian Male Quar ette, Lou J. Beauchamp, and John P. D. John. Ticket prices for the full course total 1.50 with single-entertainment seats ranging from 25 to 50 cents. dates for the remaining acts are not yet set.
