Fatal Accident at Kandiyohi Claims Local Farmer

A man named Harry Bernhard Stromert died after being crushed under a granary raised on a new foundation one mile south of Kandiyohi village. The 41-year-old Swede, who moved to Kandiyohi last December, left a widow and six children. Neighbors aided in rescue, a doctor certified death, and funeral services were announced for Friday at the family residence and First M. E. church in Willmar.

Silk Consignment Passes Thru Willmar

Eleven car Great Northern silk shipment valued at 2 300 000 moved from Seattle to New York. The cargo traveled aboard a special eastbound train. Great Northern and Burlington officials tracked the premium freight along its route via St Paul and Chicago. The consignment arrived in America on the Tumba Maru and was due at New York Pennsylvania terminals before 6 p m Tuesday. The trip set no new time record but was exceptionally fast for its class.

Minot trip shows city booming amid land lottery frenzy

Willmar Tribune editors Arthur Carlson and Homer Chase rode Great Northern No 3 to Minot North Dakota for the land lottery. They found crowded hotels, orderly crowds, and 50 000 expected registrants, with bustling business districts, rising homes, and rail access.

Minot Rumor Says $2000 Reward for Fratesty Tracts Drawn

Rumors in Minot suggest $2000 will be paid for any of several fratesty tracts, with the first tracts picked and later selections by names drawn. Land values range from 1500 to 8 per acre, plus 14 months occupancy and specified improvements, with government payments required. Other items note local visits and travel, including Rev. Class of Thirty Confirmed at Willmar Lutheran Church

Impressive confirmation services were held at the Lutheran Free church with delegates from Willmar and St. Johna. Twenty-three spoke Norwegian and seven English as Rev. M. B. Michaelson led with bilingual readings. A mission collection totaled 140 dollars. Names of the confirmands follow, marking the tenth class confirmed under Pastor Michaelson. Covenant Society Meets in Willmar with 125 members, banquet, purple and white decor, officers elected. Also a Raymond Minnesota Week feature extols local industry and amenities, noting population, churches, banks, stores, services, theater, and upcoming electric lights.

Seining Foot Lake by St Paul Men Under State Permit

A Makinsky and L Pavian of St Paul arrived with a state permit to seine Foot Lake and Big Kandiyohi. They brought a carload of nets and gear and began work using 2500 feet of nets drawn by teams. The first haul came late last Friday, with plans to continue through winter. Fish species such as suckers are returned to the lake while carp and buffalo are shipped to Newsak. Deputy Game Warden Berenstein oversees to ensure compliance with the law.

Child Killed in Street Accident In City

Four and a half year old Renold Swenson died after being run over by a motor vehicle following a wagon incident on South First Street. The auto driven by A W Isaacson could not stop in time. the boy, who was hanging on the wagon, was struck when he darted into the street. Renold was conscious briefly after being found, but died soon after. The driver is not to blame, with burial planned at Fairview. memorials and services will be held at Swedish Baptist church.
