Fatal Accident at Sunburg Claims Local Child

Sunbury correspondent reports a four year old, son of Mr and Mrs Henry Hollen, killed last Thursday in Sunburg when struck by a Solma auto. Parents left grief stricken, funeral held Friday at West Norway Lake church with burial beside his Lettie brother. Investigations indicate Elmer Roen of Sunturg was driving the car. neighborhood mourns. Grace Dahl and visitors from Atwater noted in inquiry.

Tommeraasen Bletten Wedding At Solomon Lake Church

Arnold Tommeraasen and Miss Marie Sletten wed at Solomon Lake Lutheran church on October 16, 1919 at 7 30 pm with Rev Norman officiating. The ceremony featured a choir, ushers, ribbon bearers, and flower girl. After a 125 guest reception at the bride’s home, the couple will farm near town. Sailor Chester S Nelson returned to Willmar after over two years in the U. S Navy aboard the U S S Denver.

John Wright murder case trial ends in manslaughter verdict

John R. Wright of New London was found guilty of manslaughter in the first degree for shooting his wife on April 28 and was sentenced to serve from five to twenty years in the state penitentiary. The trial drew wide attention as the first such charge in over thirty years in the county.

Miss Frances Hedin daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Hedin returned home from Minneapolis where she studied nursing at the Eithel Hospital for three years and graduated last May. She will remain at home for an indefinite period.

Mr and Mrs Clarence J Larson arrived Tuesday evening last week from Carlton. The W C T A met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs Wm H Peterson on First Street. Mr and Mrs Hans E Wage returned Friday from Carrington Oak where Mr Hagen has some farm interest. Miss Mayme Rasmuseon left Sunday morning for Blooming Prairie for a Silver wedding of her uncle and aunt. W T Berg of Montevideo was a Willmar visitor last evening. he is a Nonpartisan League organizer around Kerkhoven. Mrs Walter W Erickson and Mrs Sophus Larsen returned from Minneapolis after attending Grand Opera. Melvin Swenson of Shakopee visited Thursday through Sunday at the Swenson home in Svea. Otto Odlund left Tuesday for a visit near New London. arrived Saturday from Fort Sheridan on a 30 day furlough. Mrs Andrew Anderson of New London arrived Friday to visit Miller Olson home. Mr Anderson serving on jury. Aamola Westberg and Willie Wallin of Montevideo arrived this afternoon on business and to visit cousin A E Anderberg family. Mr and Mrs Victor Lundquist and two children of near Bird Island left today for Watertown South Oak where Mrs Lundquist went to consult a doctor. Esther McKelvey leaves tomorrow for Ottumwa after summer with sister Mrs William Lundquist at Laka Lillian.

Directed by Mr and Mrs Harry Choate, the cast included Dunstan Kirke played by Mr Choate and Hazel Kirke by Mrs Choate, with strong supporting turns from Miss Bertha Ramsett, Ida Carlson, Mrs Cora Burns, Ella Carlson, Walter Erickson, Herbert Hengstler, Donald Hahn, Russell Curran, and Laurence Wiggins in key roles.

Fall Term Criminal Calendar Highlights and Notices

The fall term district court lists cases: Miles Robertson pleaded guilty to a second degree charge and received a state reformatory sentence. Walter Bergman received a term with child knowledge charges. John Michels was tried and found not guilty. John Wright was convicted of first degree manslaughter with an indeterminate sentence at the State Penitentiary. Peter Ogrem jailed for paternity and liability. E. E. Gruenberg pleaded guilty to illicit press orders, sentenced to $100 and 30 days jail with execution stayed until November. The petit jury completed two weeks of service. Also noted are Health Association meeting details, auction sale of secretary’s household goods, Red Cross Seals drive, and reminders about marriage licenses and a church guild meeting. The McLaughlin family visited Faribault to see a seriously ill father.
