Case Dismissed In Adjourned Minnesota Assault

State of Minnesota filed a third degree assault case against William Stannard of Harrison after an on site threshing crew dispute. The charge involved willful unlawful striking and bruising of Oliver of Meeker County. Proceedings began September 25 and Stannard was released on $50 recognizance. County Attorney Johnson and defense lawyer Porter presented, but the case was dismissed after the complainant failed to post required costs.

Willmar Hosts New Pioneer Lodge Leslie Homestead

A new Pioneer Life Association lodge named Leslie Homestead was organized in Willmar with W. H. Myers and W. B. Kruger conducting the installing rites. Officers include President J VeP and Mrs J B Lew among others as listed, with Roosevelt calling Congress to an extra session to November 9 to address Cuban reciprocity. The senate passed the measure last spring but it must originate in the House, triggering senate action again after the holiday recess. At the special term of probate court.

Rites Held For Inte Lewis Moline Jr at Swedish Church

The body of Inte Lewis Moline Jr was laid to rest after services at the Swedish Lutheran church on Becker Avenue. Pallbearers included Lewin Johnson and A A Anderson. The procession traveled to Svea where a second service and burial followed, with Willmar visitors arriving and refreshments served.

Miller Acquitted in Liquor Trial at Willmar Court

The court acquitted B F Miller of liquor law violations after a three hour session in Judge Cramer’s court. State evidence included three liquor purchases at the Miller resort during September and seized bottles. Miller was released on recognizance earlier, re-arrested on a new complaint, and next steps include a hearing to bound over for grand jury action.
