Young engineer dies in Great Northern yard collision

Howard Staples, 22, a husband and father, died after a collision between switch engines 25 and 545 in the Great Northern yards. He suffered severe burns and injuries, was rushed to Willmar hospital, and died about two hours after the 7:15 am accident. Fireman Joe Ryan was injured. the wreck caused traffic delays for about forty minutes. Staples, born March 19, 1884, Anoka County, had worked ten years in engine service with the railroad.

Sudden death shocks New London tailor P A Brogren

Peter A Brogren a New London merchant tailor died three hours after being stricken with paralysis at his shop. Born 1858 in Sweden he emigrated to the U S in 1891 and opened a New London shop. Survived by three children eleven grandchildren and a sister. Funeral held at his son Peter Swenson's home and Norwegian Lutheran church burial at Rock Dell.

Priam residents report Mr. Peter Kempke will relocate to Colorado where he has bought one thousand acres. Farmers are busy with Abraphins. Mrs. William Boettcher called on Kempke. Fred Euling visited Willmar for areneary. Peter of Willmar arrived Saturday for a Sunday visit with the Jenson family.

Sudden death while fishing in Lake Andrew

A. C. Tenger of this city died of heart failure Thursday evening while fishing on Lake Andrew with Wm. Gabbert from Willmar Hardware Co. He had recently lived in Willmar and Litchfield, served as fire chief there, and was a tinsmith with Willmar Hardware. Survived by wife Amelia Sorens, son Irving of Boston, and daughter Helen attending Winona Normal. Funeral in Litchfield. Interment in Litchfield Cemetery.
