Destructive City Fire Destroys Barn and Shops
A major blaze Thursday afternoon wrecked the Glarum feed barn and nearby properties. The fire consumed the barn and three horses, damaged Olson’s undertaking shop, Parson timber shed, and caused about 6000 dollars in losses. Insurance covered most, but Olson carried none. Authorities suspect two boys sparked it. fire crews faced rusty hydrants and low water pressure before gaining control.

Anniversary Observance Marks Minnesota College Growth
Four hundred attended the fifth anniversary program at Minnesota College in the college chapel. The event featured depictions of growth from 28 pupils in 1904 to 488 last June, with property valued at 85000 and seven departments led by eighteen teachers. Early Edwards Settler Charles Johnson Dies at Home
Charles Johnson, first settler of Edwards township, born in Sweden in 1841, died October 6 at his Willmar area homestead after Civil War service and early frontier life. He helped establish Croydon post office, served in local offices, married Lizzie Reed in 1874, and had four children. Funeral held at family home with Raymond minister Rev. Cummings. interment in Raymond cemetery.
