Completion of Willmar to Atwater road opens festive event
The eleven mile paved highway from Willmar to the east county line was celebrated at Atwater. Contractor McKusick and chief assistant hosted 200 workers and guests with moving pictures, a banquet, and speeches praising local cooperation and highway department efforts. Construction ran day and night, using gravel pits, cement sacks, and heavy equipment, continuing until frost ends work.

Henry Stenson left Monday for Jordan Minnesota for treatment at health resort and baths. He has been troubled with poison in one leg. BOY INJURED BY CAR Olof Fosterwold struck by motor car driven by Hans Peterson of Willmar. He suffered a cut over the left eye and scratches on the left face. Taken to Willmar Hospital and Clinid by the driver. He is getting along mildly.

The new brick and stucco schoolhouse east of Willmar in District 44 has a 40 by 40 footprint, two rooms, a basement, wrap room and toilets, with 70 seating capacity. The building cost 10,200 dollars, the contract let May 14, and the Golden Red Club met there, featuring an excellent program.

Former resident Henry Stenson received word that Peter Wog of Tacoma Washington died Tuesday October 4 at age 84. An informant was his brother Old Wogzo of Tacofia. A tin shop run on 1st Street decades ago linked Wog to the local trade. Meanwhile Dreamland Theatre opened under Franklin Ambushment Company with daily orchestra, fresh interior rededication, and new front lighting under local manager D M Bytcheson.

Mr and Mrs Ed Sandbo and family returned to Willmar Minnesota last Sunday from a three month stay in California. They had planned California as permanent home but found it less enjoyable. They left Willmar on June 26 for Berkeley California and are now residents again. Ms Zandbo has not determined what business activity will engage him.

Prinsberg Man Commits Death by Own Action
Herbert Hiebrink a well known farmer at Prinsberg hanged himself Sunday afternoon in the upstairs of the barn. He was about 24 years old and had been farming in Prinsberg for a year. He recently became sole owner of the farm after buying his brother in law's share. The house housed two families. his wife discovered the body about 4 o'clock after the couple failed to find him. The cause was not stated. Other items note a social at Oak Park Church, Emma H. McDowell's death at the state asylum, and local visits and an electric light plant installation by Andrew Peterson.

Anton Peterson Attends Labor Conference in St Paul
Anton Peterson, vice president of the A F of L Seventh District, attended a conference at the St Paul Trades Assembly on October 9. The gathering, also with state vice presidents and the executive council, focused on unemployment and the wage to cost of living gap, noting wages eight percent lower than food prices. The conference discussed aiding the state highway department with road extension projects to relieve unemployment.

The Kandiyohi district court docket reports grand jury service with about $500 paid and a petit jury with $300. Eleven indictments were returned. Several cases were continued or dismissed. Walter Bergman pled guilty to a statutory offense. A highway petition was granted. Holm won a $196 jury verdict over a rental dispute. A $200 promissory note case favored the plaintiff. Tax proceedings covered about $1000. Zieman faced three liquor indictments and was fined $300. Gannon fined $200 with jail time.
