False hold up blamed on drunken delusion in Raymond area

Sheriff Bonde investigated a reported 11 80 a m hold up two miles east of Raymond near the Bay farm. Two suspects were found at Clara City but released after the alleged victim recanted, suggesting a prank fueled by booze. Municipal Court heard five Willmar youths admit breaking an electric street lamp on Sixth Street. they face payment to the city and sentencing next Tuesday.

Illness and visits in Prinsburg and Raymond area

Mrs. Martin Breems remains very weak after two weeks of critical illness. H J Roelofs and wife visited Raymond with relatives. A J Nagel from Greenleafton, Minn. aided with threshing on S Slagter’s rented farm and then left. D Markus and daughter Rena were in Raymond. Rena takes a week’s vacation before helping sister Mrs N Vos in Roseland. Mrs W Hebrink’s family traveled to Greenleafton for ill father. Mrs N Burresaf drove to Raymond to meet Rev Burgraaf at a Christian Reformed Church meeting in Iowa. Mrs Lucas Slagter of Raymond visited here. Mrs Henry Brugger recovering from illness. her mother Mrs Dragt cared for her. Ina DeVries shopped in Raymond and visited Mrs L Slagter. Miss Gertrude Roelofs and Miss Gracie Slagter noted, with Gracie returning from a visit in Raymon. Mrs R Green of Washington visiting Neal and relatives here and at Raymond. J Van Dalen from near Raymond rents the Fitzpatrick farm and plans to move by the 15th. Johnson sale last Friday sold well. sales reported plentiful around us.

Muskrat Prospects Discussed At Kandiyahi Lake Visit

At Lake Willan M Warner under a physician's care in Willmar. Peterson Johnson and Swenson visited Kandiyahi Lake on Sunday evening to view muskrat prospects. The locals doubt the muskrat show. Next Friday the evening class in Dist 83 will organize to review common branches for older pupils. all are invited.

Railroad crew shifts and wedding greet Willmar workers

Brakeman Chas Estemar is promoted to freight conductor on the Willmar division. Fireman Roy Bingham becomes an engineer and will run engine 64 in the Willmar yards. J R Peterson, on top of his train last Monday, received 4 cinders in his eye and was treated by a doctor. Engineer Guy Storer broke his right index finger when a monkey wrench fell on his hand. Chas Dalen, recently promoted traveling engineer on the terminal division, handles duties successfully. Fireman Joe Broberg, hurt in the Lyndon wreck June 11, can return to work and will switch in yards for a time. George H. Keyes, Santa Fe chief clerk at Winslow, Ariz., visited his brother-in-law De La Hunt after a stint as Willmar timekeeper. He notes Minnesota and the Great Northern seem less appealing. Conductor Ed Woodcock married Agnes Daugherty in Minneapolis, with a honeymoon including Fargo, Watertown, and Huron before returning home. Ed treats friends to cigars.

Surprise gifts to Rev. Gynild from parishioners

The Eagle Lake church congregation surprised Rev Gynild with a purse of 200 dollars after services as he headed home. On Friday the Free Lutheran church society in Willmar planned another surprise sending 180 dollars. The acts reflect strong esteem amid his illness.

Oct 7 ARCTANDER notes Mesdames Tresvold and Anderson visiting with Mr and Mrs A H Goldhamer. Louis Myhre leaves for North Dakota next Wednesday for four teen months on his claim. Ole Myhre recovers from a shock from falling while threshing. John Aasen of Langenburg, Canada, to wed next Tuesday. Shipments for January court citizenship papers require two witnesses of five years. Mrs E G Erickson of Irving visited Willmar this week.

October weddings brighten Kandiyohi cluster

Miss Mary Grace Car Tin wed Walter J. Tait at St. Patrick s Kandiyohi in a 10 am ceremony officiated by Rev. Father Malfoy with two hundred invitations issued and a reception planned at M W A hall. The groom, a Great Northern conductor, and the bride, daughter of Green Lake township, begin a two week wedding tour after which they return to Willmar.

Death of Pioneer Sedevart Nelson at Fahlun

Sedevart Nelson, a 74 year old pioneer of Fahlun, Minnesota, died Oct 5 at his son Ninus Nelson's home from cerebral hemorrhage and old age. Born in Norway March 28, 1834, he emigrated in 1862, settled in Fahlun in 1864, and leaves a widow Sarah Hanson, four children Hemming S., Ninus F., Lena Frederickson, Swan Anderson, plus stepchildren. Funeral Monday at Lake Lillian Methodist Church with Rev. B. Oakland delivering the sermon. Burial in the church cemetery.
