Sibley Park Deeds Filed for Record

The deeds for the new Sibley State Park at Lake Andrew have cleared defects and been approved by the Attorney General then filed with Register of Deeds Lundquist. A park board was formed with Reigstad president and Kvamsoe secretary, plus members from Arctander New London and Lake Andrew. The board plans action before opening the park and calls for community support and broader regional involvement. Auction sale for A C Quale land is announced for Oct 16.

Rev Arnt Vaaler Accepts Call to Syond Church

Pioneer Ole Knudson Dies at Arc tander Home

Ole Knudson Storbraa ten, a pioneer settler and survivor of early prairie days before the 1862 Indian war, died Tuesday September 30 at his Arc tander home where his son A O Knudson and others cared for him. He was born March 1 1835 in Sigdah Norway and came to America in 1853, later moving to Monongalia county in 1860. The notice also details a September 30 wedding of Miss Jennie Halvorson to Sherman Engelson, with a large local reception, and various community notices including football, jury service, festivals, and meetings.

Wright Indicted by Grand Jury

The grand jury has returned three indictments. John Wright is charged with murder in the first degree, Miles Robertson with grand larceny in the second degree, and Walter E. Bergman with carnal knowledge with a child. All defendants pleaded not guilty and trials are expected later this term. The court opened last Monday with the jury sworn in by Judge Quale. Oscar Wallin vs Farmers Co op Shipping Assn. yielded a plaintiff verdict. Ten ditch cases, other tax proceedings, and settlements are noted. The Golden Rod Farmers Club meets Friday evening October ith with a planned program. Everyone is welcome.
