Local society notes list numerous residents visiting relatives in Minneapolis St Paul Litchfield and nearby towns. Mentions include Ruth Norling Clarence Cramer Pearl Matmberg Geo Johnson Nannie Nelson Irene Stevens and many more with travel to Atwater Willmar and Ed Woodcock visiting in Litchfield. Also notes wrecking crew in Stockholm and several residents returning home from trips and funerals.
In Roseville township last Saturday a four year old bull escaped from pasture and fatally wounded Mrs Johanna Winther, 65, in her dooryard while she attempted to drive the cattle away. Her husband Ole Winther survived the attack after their daughter intervened. The funeral will be at Nordland Norwegian Lutheran church in Irving.
Belgrade Tribune reports Ole C. Reiquam oldest community member killed in Brooten yards when a freight train distracted him and he was struck by train No. 108, 8 flyer, throwing him 20 feet. Born May 27, 1856 near Bergen Norway, he came to America in 1872. Survived by wife Betsy, mother Mrs. O. O. Relquam, and five children Albert Relquam of Los Animas Colorado, Mrs. J. B. Babcock of Minneapolis, Anna Adeline and Oscar of Belgrade. Funeral held at Sion church with Rev. Tole. interment Crow River cemetery. Former village marshal, constable, deputy sheriff, postmaster 1909-1913. P. S. church meeting Oct. 16 with program.

The Willmar and St Johns Lutherans surprised Rev. M B Michaelson with gifts after services last week. A dinner, refreshments, and social time followed as leaders and the city shared in expressing esteem for his eight year pastorate at St Johns Pennock. A second gift was presented at Pennock with a purse of 57 50 and a luncheon.
Landlord C J Nickelson spent Sunday in the twin cities. A daughter was born Sept 24 to Prof and Mrs A C Pederson. A son born last Friday to Mr and Mrs G A Soderling. Mabel Malmberg visited Dawson. Elmer Beck of Kandigohl visited Willmar. Mrs Erick Walllu of Duluth arrived for a visit. Mrs O P Strom and Miss Hattie Swenson visited at Raymond. Mrs C J Croonquist of Kensel Dak. visiting Mesdames Holmdahl and Hedin. Mesdames Hanson and others visited Litchfield. Mrs Charles Hanacom and baby returned to St Paul after visiting relatives. Mesdames Nelson Norman and two children en route to Murdock. Miss Hattie Holmdahl resigned teaching near Kerkhoven and returned home to care for her ill mother. Mrs W L Norin returned from Colfax, sister Miss Lizzie Erickson accompanying. Mrs J Robertson returned from Cottonwood after visiting her sister. Theo Dahl, summer resident of Willmar, left for Minneapolis to study music. Roy Landberg spent Saturday in Milaca with his mother visiting Willmar. Walter Frye and daughter Bessie visited Willmar. Bessie stayed for a month. Mrs James F Corbin returned from Benson after her brother Harold Annie’s accident. he is recovering. John Olson of Willmar has purchased 115 East Becker Ave and plans to relocate. he sold his 100 acre farm for $81 per acre.
