Sunday School Rally at Presbyterian Church Next Sunday
A Sunday school rally will be held October 10 at 12 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. The program includes sacred melodies, an address by Rev. Buell, talks on immigrant work by Mr. Scotton, and reports from various departments. The occasion aims to mobilize home, cradle roll, primary, and home department members for Rally Day. The History club met at Mrs. Adams’s home and began the Italian and Grecian Bay View Course with Mrs. Adams teaching. Officers elected: President Mrs. P. C. Tanning, Vice President Miss Louise Fancher, Secretary and Treasurer Mrs. Frank Bigham, Critic Mrs. A. P. Adams. The next History club meeting is October 18 at Mrs. Frank Bigham’s home.

Housekeepers Meet at I O O F Ball for Season Opening
The Housekeepers club held its first meeting of the season at the I O O F ball on Saturday afternoon. They discussed disposing of proceeds from the flower show and approved a plan to present a curio cabinet to the public library. Mesdames Larson Stansberry and Odell were named to study cabinet styles and prices and report in November. A social hour followed with coffee served by women previously appointed. The club’s generosity to the library was praised. S. J. Greenfield returned home from Fessenden, North Dakota, where he did carpentry work and said the area near Fessenden is special and he may visit again.

County Auditor Feig received from the Minnesota tax commission the valuation changes reported by the county board of equalization. The total valuation rises to 1,614,906 with an increase of 55,040. Great Northern Wins Large Mail Contract
Great Northern railway secures a major mail contract effective last Monday. The new all mail train from the Twin Cities to Seattle via St Paul and Minneap olis will carry mail to Willmar Benson Morris and Breckenridge and points in North Dakota Montana and Washington. The service cuts coast to coast time to about three days from New York to Seattle. Four relay clerks will operate between St Paul and Seattle with route segments through Devils Lake Glasgow Whitefish. The contract, valued near 2 million dollars, marks a peak in fast-transit mail service and networks with Chicago connections.
