Engine Works Reopened at Willmar by J Emil Nelson Corp
Arrangements completed for the reopening of the Gazoline Engine factory in Willmar. The plant, owned by The J Emil Nelson Corporation, will be run by the company with H T Borsheim of Charles City Iowa as superintendent. He will relocate with stock in the firm and move to Willmar to install machinery and start operations. The factory will function as a machine repair shop focusing on Willmar engines, leveraging a foundry in connection for future expansion.

State school fund apportions aid to Kandiyohi County
G Schulz state superintendent announced the current year apportionment of the state school fund. Each pupil gets 3 dollars. Kandiyohi has 4373 pupils for 13119 dollars. Rural schools receive special aid by grade, and independent districts Willmar Atwater New London and Raymond share 4425 dollars. County overall shows improving attendance and more schools qualifying for aid. The Commercial Club adopted a sewer motion and supported Judge Quale for re-election. Willmar Seminary enrolls 50 plus, with 18 local students and others from Fargo. A wedding invitation and local visits are noted, plus a newborn girl for Mr and Mrs Knuteen.

The Howee keepers' Club opened its season with a pleasing program Saturday afternoon followed by sociability and refreshments. Dainty pansies decorated the serving plates. Next meeting set for Saturday November 6 with Mrs. Wm Gilger as chairman and a list of ladies aiding. they will meet in the library basement on Friday Oct 14 at three o'clock. Twenty one young people helped Marian Gratz celebrate her birthday at her home with games, carnations, and refreshments. Marian proved a charming hostess.

Punctures occurred from nails left on the road near Litchfield, and stones blocked a repair-friendly seven-mile stretch between Atwater and Kandiyohi. Tourists dined at Litchfield, stayed overnight in Morris, and continued to Sisseton Aberdeen Ortonville Montevideo Granite Falls, returning to Minneapolis.
