Death of Mrs Isabella Henderson in Chicago

Mrs Isabella Henderson widow of John Henderson longtime Green Lake and Kandiyohi county resident died in Chicago after a short illness of pneumonia. She was born November 2 1829 and aged nearly 76. Surviving children include Mrs A J Smithson Hawick Mrs W R Henderson Detroit Mich Mrs W A Hadley Chicago and Dr Hugh Henderson Chicago plus James Henderson Sunnyside Wash Peter and John J Henderson Spirit. Funeral at Spirit Lake near Henderson Lake area with services at Presbyterian church. Interment Oakside Cemetery in Harrison. Her death follows the family’s earlier settlement in Green Lake in 1871.

Foot Lake road saved by local drive and gifts

At a Willmar area meeting the Good Roads committee agreed to take steps to salvage Foot Lake dump from erosion and restore a passable road. Farmers north of the lake pledged work, the packing company offered a substantial gift, merchants started a subscription, and the city council may provide a small appropriation. A private effort could cover main repairs until legal issues are resolved.

Pickle Day Meeting Of Women’s Institute Scheduled

Next Saturday afternoon the Women’s Institute holds its regular meeting at the Odd Fellows hall, inviting each member to bring a pickle sample and recipe. Refreshments follow a varied program featuring Bryant selections, sketches, songs, readings, and a question box.

Billy Atherton Dead in Minneapolis After Illness

W E Atherton a longtime traveling agent for Toternations Harvester Co died last Thursday in Minneapolis hospital after a long illness. Death was due to stomach troubles. He had lived in Minneapolis since leaving Beusos years ago. The funeral and burial arrangements were held at his boyhood home in Bastiogs.

High Priced Land Sees Two Purchases This Week

Heirs of John Tososing sold two fifties of land attracting 862i per acre. One tract in Guennessee near Beary Boose’s holdings, the other in section 36 Harrison near J. Gilbertson. Buyers valued proximity to their own lands. Atwater Republican Press notes social guest Mr and Mrs Ball Monson of Lorne, Minnesota visiting the J. J6 Monson clan over Sunday.

Death claims Manin Hultin longtime Kandiyohi resident

Manin Hultin of Kandiyohi county died Thursday at his Willmar area farm after a cancer battle. He was born August 24, 1851 in Smaland Sweden, lived in Minneapolis twelve years, settled in Kandiyohi in 1878, and married Ida Holm in 1874. Survived by widow and seven children, six living, with services at Tripolis Swedish Lutheran church and interment in Tripolia cemetery. The community notes extensive church mission meetings and a Degree of Honor convention planned in Willmar this week with multiple ministers and attendees.

Obstructed Crossing Arrest In Municipal Court

Breckenridge division freight conductor J Veugho was arrested Saturday for obstructing Beventh street crossing for seventeen minutes. Found guilty in municipal court. Judge Muller ordered a fine of 65 plus costs. Court opened with fifteen cases, some lengthy. Eben E Lawson of New London left for Chicago to study sculpture and painting at the Art Institute.

Free Home Delivery Feasibility Discussed by Willmar Inspector

Police Inspector George H. Drake visited Willmar last Saturday to evaluate introducing free city delivery. He urged prompt street sign placement and house numbering to enable early service, possibly as soon as December 1. He outlined the need for clear lettering and a district numbering plan, noting the local system should facilitate map reading and address location.

Death of Erick Hagstrom shocks Soos community

Erick Hagstrom, a wall-room teacher and telephones manager for Soos, died Oct 3 at his home after a two month illness attributed to kidney tuberculosis. Born May 3, 1866 in Mockified parish Sweden, he came to the county at age two and taught in district and Swedish parochial schools. He later co owned Hogstrom Hed store, managed the Kanalyoi Telephone line, and served as secretary of the Sves creamery. He married in 1893 to Mine Eisntents Blomgres and leaves a wife, three children Esther Ruth and Pearl, five brothers Peter Andrew Albert Baldor Emil, and one sister Meabilde. Funeral next Sunday at 10 a.m. with service at the church by Rev. J. O. Lundberg.
