Three Local Boys Charged In School Theft Ring

Three youths aged 10 to 14 were rounded up by police for thefts linked to a summer spree in the city. Led by a confession, investigators found pencils pens and a printing outfit stolen from Lincoln school and other property, including pigeons and rabbits. Two brothers were released after corporal punishment. the third must return to court, all promises made for good behavior.

Governor Johnson presses railroads to cut grain rates

In Abert Lea Standard coverage Governor Johnson demands rapid action to force railroads to reduce grain rates beyond a prior compromise. Jim Hill and Lee lines accept four tenths percent cuts, other roads likely to follow. He says savings on grain exceed a million dollars and aims to extend rate cuts to coal, lumber, and merchandise.

Danish born Peter Bonde for Kandiyohi sheriff

Peter Bonde a prohibition candidate for Kandiyohi county sheriff was born in Denmark on May 9 1870. He immigrated to Willmar with his parents twenty six years ago and has since worked in railroad service and the Hour and feed business, owning the Bonde Block. Four years ago he became Willmar chief of police. his record as Baltes officer earns broad admiration and it is predicted he will be elected sheriff in November.

Lost Arm In Accident At Nelson Bros Threshing

George W. Johnson of Whitefield suffered a severe accident on the O Goranson farm near Willmar while tending a straw separator. His left arm was crushed by a blower belt, necessitating amputation four inches below the shoulder. He is reported to be recovering as well as could be expected. Farewell Reception for Pastor Osterholm at Swedish Mission

A Tuesday evening prayer meeting at the Swedish Mission church in Willmar and a farewell gathering for Rev A N Osterholm and his family drew city attention. Supt Tanning and John T Otos spoke warmly while refreshments and decorated tables followed. An $86.75 purse of good wishes was given to the pastor and his wife as they prepare to move to West Superior Wisconsin. Watt, a city livery worker, filed a $1000 damage claim for injuries from a defective sidewalk crossing near Cramer's barbershop and Bank of Willmar, saying his foot was caught in a hole, leaving him unable to work and requiring medical care.

Willmar Chief of Police Peter Bonde Resigns

Peter Bonde resigns as chief of police of Willmar Minnesota with effect October 1st. The resignation was filed with the city clerk and sent to the city council for action. At the last council meeting no quorum was present to take official action while Mayor Quale is away. Alfred Gilbertson serves as acting night officer and G H Stephens serves as night policeman. The resignation letter thanks the council and Mayor Quale for steady support during Bonde's four terms.

Died Suddenly in New London Family Bereavement

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winblad mourn the death of their three year old daughter Frances from spasms after a day of play. Funeral held at four o clock with Rev Gates officiating. interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Attendees included Willmar residents and church members. Three Pipestone runaways found by sheriff in Willmar area

Three Indian boys Frank Gardner John Cobel and James Pemberton were found Monday night by Sheriff Lundquist at a dago shanty in the east end of the railroad yards. They admitted they were from Leeuh Lake and were among ten boys wanted at Pipestone. The sheriff held them at his county boarding house before returning them to Pipestone.

Chicago Glee Club to open Willmar entertainments
