Personal Mention Reflects Social Visits Across Town

Miss Clara Allen spent Friday in Kandiyohi and Albert Peterson was at his parental home in Spicer on Sunday. The list details many local journeys and visits including Miss Pearl Malmberg at Atwater, Mrs. August Benson on Litehtieht business, Miss Edna Skoog heading to Mortis to attend school, and numerous others visiting relatives in nearby towns.

Kandiyohi County Fair Exhibits Highlight 1910

Four hundred nineteen exhibitors entered Kandiyohi County Fair with a thousand three hundred sixty three entries across departments. New horse barn and strong showings in corn fruit vegetables and dairy framed a county fair notable for quality over volume.

Farm Sells at 100 Per Acre Near Willmar

The L. P. Lindholm farm three miles east of Willmar, long known as Gilbert Sampson’s property, sold last Saturday through Anderson Trand Co to John H. Luckstead of Town for exactly 100 dollars per acre. It marks the first local sale at that price in Kandiyohi county, signaling rising land values. Luckstead had scouted across the Northwest before deciding this was the best value for the money, with the farm previously changing hands years ago at 67 per acre.

First High School Ben son game set for Saturday kickoff

The opening football clash in this city pits the local high school against Benson with a 3 PM kickoff. Benson brings a 200 pound full back Dwight Coy and better recent form, while locals rely on a strong line and a potentially new quarterback. Heavy practice with no prior scrimmage may affect the locals but the squad features experienced players and aims to be well represented this season.

Bicycle and motorcycle race meet set for Sunday

Cyclists plan a Sunday afternoon meet at the old race track west of town with multiple events. Boys bicycle race offers three merchandise prizes. several motorcycle races with cash and goods prizes up to 20 dollars, plus special awards for fastest starts and best times.

D H LeSeur Died At 89 In City Hotel After Illness

David Harvey LeSeur aged 89 died after a two week illness while living with his son Conductor E N Le Seur at the Central Hotel for the past five years. He was born in New York state and lived in Town and Casselton North Dakota. A daughter Mrs Mollie Le Seur Bennett died in this city three years ago. The funeral was held Friday by the Masonic lodge with Rev J L Parmeter officiating. Interment at Fairview. The obituary also notes a long Masonic membership since 1849 and floral tributes from Masons, the Eastern Star and the C R C.

District Court Opens Monday for Kandiyohi Fall Term

District Court for Kandiyohi county opens Monday for the fall term with Judge G E Qvale presiding. The grand and petit juries convene at two. No criminal cases on the calendar though grand jury may have business. Civil cases listed include City of Willmar vs Edmund D Sykes and others, and several equity, probate, and road appeal actions involving Atwater Union Elevator and local firms.

Old Settler John K. Rykken Dies in Fire Aftermath

John K. Rykken, a respected Dovre township pioneer born in 1837 in Norway, died of heart failure prompted by stress from a blaze at his residence near Solomon Lake. Surviving children include Ingeborg Sletten, C. J. Rykken, J. J. Rykken, and Ole J. Rykken. two brothers also mourn him. Funeral at Solomon Lake Vik er church featured Rev. J. N. Andersen.
