Kandiyohi Poultry Show Opens Next Week In Willmar

The Third Annual Kandiyohi County Poultry Show will run December 2 to 4 with entries from beyond the county. Held in the Ruble building showroom after a recent fire cleanup, the event will be open day and night with reduced admission of 10 cents. Visitors will see Plymouth Rock Wyandotte Rhode Island Red and Brahma breeds among others in a citywide fashion show of poultry.

Windom Institute Defeats Local In Close Football Game

Windom Institute of Montevideo defeated the local high school 14 to 12 after a hard fought game last Saturday. Both teams scored two touchdowns with Windom kicking two goals, while the locals relied on a late barrage of forward passes and strong defense. The field was slick and playrs battled for footing as Norling at center and MacDonald at tackle were noted starters.

Former Belgrade Resident Convicted Of Murder

Louis A. Larson was found guilty of murdering his wife in the Verdugo hills Los Angeles on June 23 after forty minutes of jury deliberation. The first degree verdict carries the death penalty imposed Tuesday this week. Witnesses included Miss Lulu Carpenter Larson’s daughter Luella and Larson’s daughter. Luella testified to a double life and warning to never let her father go free. Larson showed little emotion, expressing hope for a possible second trial. Willmar Board Seeks Bond Election for New EightRoom Schoolhouse
