Children Sell Red Cross Seals for Thanksgiving Aid
City school children in grades four through eight will sell Red Cross Christmas Seals during the Thanksgiving break. Top sellers win cash prizes up to $1.50. medals for 100 seals and buttons for 25 or more. Local officers P J Haley and Andrew Larson oversee the drive with Joseph Estrem handling funds. The campaign aims to surpass last year’s two million seals and has ordered eleven and a half million seals for Minnesota communities.

Poultry Show Scheduled by Kandiyohi County Association
Kandiyohi County Poultry Association set January 11 to 14, 1916 for its annual display in the Masonic Temple basement. Premiums totaling 350 to 400 dollars will be cash prizes. Members from New London and Raymond attended the meeting held at the Commercial Club. In Kandiyohi a church wedding united Miss Adina Noid and Mr Harry A Anderson of Atwater with a four course supper and extensive celebrations. The couple will reside on the groom’s farm near Kandiyohi after a wedding trip to Minneapolis and Chicago.

Morine Shot by Frenchman Near Estevan
Ernest Morine a former railroad man and Willmar merchant, was shot five times by a demented Frenchman south of Estevan Canada on Saturday October 23. A. O. Hildahl reports Morine is expected to recover with the cheek wound as the most serious injury. An extended Mercury writeup notes the assailant was Herbert LaMarche, a 25 year old farm hand on E C Morine’s farm near the international boundary.
