Fire destroys cement block factory on Green Lake
Fire at a cement block factory owned by Geer and Larson near Green Lake burned last Thursday at about three in the morning. The blaze origin is unknown but likely started from a stove. Loss from stock and ruined blocks is estimated at 1500 dollars. Rev. Walters of Tripolis will lead services at the Swed ish Lutheran church next Sunday at three in the afternoon. A social and sale held the previous Wednesday in the hall was reported as great.

France F Nelson, born October 12, 1869 in Minneapolis, died November 18 at his Willmar home after a lengthy illness. A self-reliant craftsman, he built a career as barber, jeweler, and inventor, partnering in business ventures and contributing to local industry. Surviving are his parents, brother J Emil Nelson, wife Hulda M Peters(en), and three children Reuben, Chester, and Fern. Funeral services conducted in Swedish and Presbyterian rites were held at his residence and the Presbyterian church with extensive attendance and floral tributes.

A division of the Order Railway Conductors known as Willmar Division No 563 was organized last Sunday. T Richardson of St Paul led the effort for the Great Northern system. The unit, affiliating with the National Order, begins with about fifty charter members from Breckenridge to St Paul. Officers elected at Carlson hall include J I Carruthers Chief Conductor C E Miller Assistant Chief E H LeSevre secretary treasurer. Other officers are J B Fitzgerald H V Wright J C Dale and E C Walsh. Meetings set for the first and third Sundays with a banquet and social hour following the session. The gathering drew Superintendent Stewart Chief Dispatcher Hornbeck Master Mechanic Winney Chief Clerk Frogner Dispatcher Taylor Fireman Rasmussen Mayor Peterson and Gazette editor Crosby among others. Carruthers served as toastmaster and many toasts followed before an evening of sociability. The ladies assisting with the banquet included many named spouses and friends.

Obituary of Mathias Wagner Pioneer Settler in Kandiyohi County
Mathias Wagner died Thursday November 11 at age 91 years 7 months 21 days after two weeks of senile pneumonia. Born in Luxemberg on March 18 1818 he settled on a Edwards township homestead in 1876 becoming an early Western Kandiyohi County settler. Survived by one daughter Mrs Harry Bretz three grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren the funeral was held Saturday at 2 30 PM at the Catholic church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. He spent his final years with his grandson John Wagner and family.
