Finest sleighing for years boosts pre holiday travel
Heavy snowfall brings excellent sleighing in Willmar and across the county yet hampers threshers. Eight inches fell on the Jevel at Willmar as winds earlier in the week loosened the harvest. With roads well packed, a fine season is hoped if weather remains cold, while threshing lags with one tenth of small grain still unthreshed and corn shredding ongoing in the area. Snow plows and moved rigs complicate threshing travel, mainly southwest of Willmar, and grain sales remain light.
