The American Legion in Willmar, with 275 members, held a Wednesday meeting at Odd Fellows Hall. Judge T C Gilbert delivered an eloquent address and presented the post with a banner donated by the Hanscom family in honor of Austin F Hanscom. The post’s coffee fundraiser netted about 40, and the banner is on exhibit at Peterson & Wellin.

He leaves parents Alfred and Mildred Hedeen two brothers Oliver Milton and a sister Mildred in St Paul and another sister Mrs Carl Peterson of Willmar. Mrs Peterson leaves for St Paul to attend the funeral Thursday afternoon Swedish Mission Ladies Aid. Train Inspector Dies After Yard Accident at Willmar
A Great Northern yard accident at Willmar fatally injured H L Ruhn a 20 year old air brake inspector born 1889 Eden Valley. He was struck by switch engine 826 while watching a starting Sioux City freight near the sixth track. He died at Willmar Hospital at 1 pm. He leaves a wife Olga Theodore Boreen two children and many relatives. Funeral held November 17 at Eden Valley with church service and floral tributes from local groups. He was a member of the Carmens Lodge 634 Willmar.

Gasoline torch explodes burning two seining men
Frank Warren and Ed Funk of Eagle Lake seining crew were badly burned last Friday at the Willmar Vulcanizing shop when a gasoline blow torch exploded. Their clothing caught fire but they escaped burning and received treatment from local doctors before being taken to Rest Hospital for several days.
