Rural School Hous es Building Suggestions by County Supt

County Superintendent E F Fink issued a pamphlet on building lighting and ventilating rural schools and shared it with district officers. He advocates large well lit rooms with proper heating and a ventilating shaft, a large upright stove, green walls, storm sash, and proper floor and ceiling heights, plus essential equipment including free texts a library maps and a Webster dictionary.

Successful bloodless hip surgery at Asbury Hospital

A three year old boy, Anson Hier of Raymond, underwent the first Northwestern bloodless surgery for congenital hip dislocation at Asbury hospital Minneapolis. Dr. Mark B. Smith performed the operation with Dr. J. W. Little assisting. After casting, the hip was set and expected to heal in about two months with full use of the leg anticipated.

Test of the Pig Law Appeals in District Court

Hans Larson appeals a justice court conviction for maintaining a common nuisance. He was fined 850. The case will be tried at the district court term beginning January 1. It is seen as a key test of the new Isw law and will draw close attention.

Recognition of Faithful Servion at Swedish Baptist event

A Sunday afternoon gathering at the Swedish Baptist church honored M. L. Winblad for his long leadership of the Sunday school. C J Ahlstrom spoke on the school’s progress, and Winblad received a gift amid thanks from attendees. refreshments followed the social afternoon. Jerry Leonard, nephew of Mrs. Mary Haley, died in Los Angeles, prompting family travel to Minneapolis for his funeral.
