Weekend Folio of Local Residents Traveling

Numerous residents including S. B. Quale and Dr. Harold Frost spent weekends in St Paul and the Cities. Several visits to Minneapolis, Willmar, Kerkhoven, and other towns are noted with extended stays, visits to relatives, and attendance at missions and schools. A death is reported for former Willmar resident John McCoy in Duluth. Alphia Otterness returned from Russel NC to assume duties at a Raymond area school.

Miss Winifred Sherwood Attends Carleton College Visit

Miss Winifred Sherwood attends Carleton College and visits school on Monday. Glee clubs of boys and girls plan to meet Tuesday evening. Y P T U officers met at Ethel Styles home Monday. Ella Swenson hosted a small gathering earlier. Sophomores announce a play titled Mr Bob. Anton Sandquist visits Kandiyohi over Sunday. Willmar team defeats Paynesville 17 to 0 last Saturday. Next Literary program Friday Nov 18 features Vocal Duet Life's Dream and other acts. Ladies Social Union serves supper and sale at Carlson's hall Nov 17 at 6 30 pm. Miss Elizabeth Stangl, hotel cook, celebrated with friends. Willmar Military Band provided music. she received a toilet set and gold bracelet.

Willmar Dramatic Club Presents Woman Against Woman

Local talent in Willmar stages the society drama Woman against Woman at the Willmar Opera House Tuesday evening, Nov 22. The production, under Mrs Showalter and Prof Mugge, offers serious themes with comic relief and strong performers. Proceeds support the Men’s Club of St Luke’s church. tickets available from club members and Elfstrum’s drug store.

People Visit Willmar and Surroundings Across Weekend

Numerous residents and guests traveled between Willmar, Litchfield, New London, and nearby towns over the weekend. Notable movements include Miss Anna Swanson with the Swanson family, Walter Crosby and Walter Minton attending Minnesota Wisconsin games, and H.T. Borsheim relocating his family from Charles City to Willmar.

Andrew Bjorsell Wins City Post Office Contract

Andrew Bjorsell has been awarded the contract for the new government post office to be built here. His bid was 89527 dollars, 250 dollars less than rival J H Olson. The two bidders originally matched cent for cent at 39777 dollars before substitutions reduced Bjorsell’s price. Completion is planned by March 1, 1912.

Prof Frank Nelson president of the Minnesota College at Minneapolis will address Willmar at Beth el church next Saturday at 7 30 PM.
