November Nuptials Knit Many Hearts Across Town

A series of weddings in November fills the town with festivity. Alice EB Gibson wed Walter Olson at Svea Swedish Lutheran church with a large crowd. Edith Isaacson married Harold Cederstrom in Kandiyohi township. Clara Josephine Holtberg wed Edward Elkjer at the Swedish M E church, with receptions, trips, and generous gifts.

History Club Elects Officers for Year

The Woman's History Club met with Mrs. G. A. Foster on Monday afternoon and elected officers: Mrs. B. Y. McNatry as President, Mrs. G. H. Otterness as Vice President, and Mrs. G. M. Robbins as Secretary and Treasurer. Eleanor Youngberg returns from Eastern markets to stage a sale of late trimmed hats on November 13.

Governor Hammond to visit Willmar State Hospital

Governor W S Hammond will travel to Willmar after noon Thursday to view the State Hospital Fain and discuss the institution’s future with Supt. Geo H Freeman. He aims to gather firsthand details on buildings location and local conditions before the next legislature. Hammond will attend the Bethel church bazaar at Bonde Hall, dine with workers at six, then address attendees.

Harry Mienerts Stops Train Near Raymond

A man named Harry Mienerts was struck by a freight train on the Sioux Falls line between Clara City and Raymond last Friday night. He was walking the track under the influence of liquor and refused to move as trains approached. He was taken to Willmar Hospital with a badly broken jaw and collar bone in what is believed to be a serious but recoverable condition.

Obituary Andrew Gilman and local obsequies

Word reaches that Andrew Gilman formerly of Raymond died at Staples on Monday afternoon and his remains will arrive in Willmar Thursday for interment at Fairview with Rev W A Rice officiating. Also reported the death of infant Roger Stea at the Howell building on Benson Avenue due to convulsions. funeral held Monday with interment at Fairview. County board to meet Monday to discuss jail status and a new northern state road proposal from Sunburg to Burbank connecting with the New London Belgrade road. The Bethany Society will meet at the Lutheran Free church with a program including piano solos, readings, duets and vocal solos. Christian Science lecture by Bliss Knac in the church on Tuesday evening. Various local notices of suppers, coffees, and community visits.

Early Pioneer Dies at Lisbon and Distressing News

A. H. Sperry of this city mourns the death of his younger brother Orlando F. Sperry who passed away in Lisbon North Dakota. Orlando served in Co B Hatch’s Battalion during the Indian and Civil War and later became a merchant and hotel man in New London. He moved to Liben in 1882 and married Martha Larson. He leaves seven children Daisy Armstrong Peter Ads Katie Laura plus a deceased daughter Hazel. Peter Broberg of New London is his brother-in-law.
