The Willmar Anti-Tuberculosis society met at the Commercial Club rooms. bills totaling 33.76 were approved. Reports from churches and Mrs. Lees work were presented. Miss Ida Carlson married Albin Holmquist at the Swedish Lutheran parsonage. they will reside in Croft, Nebraska after the ceremony. A. L. Walen and family visit from McHenry, North Dakota. Mesdames Gates, Tallman and Sanderson to visit schools. The next meeting is Dec. 3.
Nov. 5 1912 reports reveal Svea residents hosting gatherings at Skoglund and Norman homes, visits from J A Jacobson and C W Nordstrom, upcoming Young People’s Society program, and Hallowe’en events. Local notes include church services, club meetings, a new Farmers State Bank of Raymond article, and a pipe organ recital at the Presbyterian church. County election results show Roosevelt and Taft figures, with detail on county ticket totals and representatives.
Mrs F G Handy entertained about fifty guests Thursday afternoon at her home on 247th street. Honored guests included Mrs BE Lewis of New Haven Conn and daughter Miss Marion, Mr and Mrs Maxfield Lewis, and Mrs Geo W Tyler Jr of Elk River. An elaborate luncheon and pretty table decorations were reported.
The county moves to township care for the poor with 1,086 Yes and 343 No votes, seven precincts missing. Willmar city cast 157 in favor. Community program set for Wednesday evening November 13 featuring piano solos, vocal solos, readings, and a talk by Rev. G Peterson. Refreshments to be served. Mae Hanson returns to Willmar from New London due to a family illness.
