Accident at the coal shed injures workman in Lake Lillian

John E. Johnson, employed unloading coal at the Great Northern car sheds, was dragged fifty feet when gearing broke. Found unconscious, he was taken to Frost hospital with severe bruises, shaken condition, and possible internal injuries. He was later sent home to Mason Street.

Third Annual Meeting of Western Minnesota Education Association

The Western Minnesota Education Association will hold its third annual meeting at Granite Park Minnesota on November 14 and 15. The group includes teachers from high schools graded schools and rural schools in the Seventh district. The program offers timely topics for public school educators across branches. Attendance is expected to exceed last year. On Friday a general program will engage all teachers and Saturday divides into primary graded high and rural sections to discuss branch specific topics.

Minnesota Election Notes Show Eight Republican Congressmen

Early returns indicate eight Republican congressmen elected in Minnesota. John Lind defeated Loren Fletcher in Minneapolis by 1,000 to 1,500 votes. Ramsey County backed Van Sant by about 2,000 with eight Republicans and four Democrats on the county ticket. Republicans expected to retain control of both houses with reduced majorities. Van Sant leads Rosing by about 50,000 with half the counties reporting. Majorities listed for several states and New York results note Odell’s narrow win over Coler.
