Surprise anniversary party honors Mr. and Mrs. Lawson

Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Lawson of New London were surprised on the twentieth anniversary of their wedding held at the Wanous home, the bride's birthplace. A large gathering offered congratulations, presented a money gift, and speeches were given by Rev. Swenson, Prof. Nelson, W. E. Lawson, and Louis Lawson. Refreshments followed for all guests.

Obituary of A J Erickson and Local Deaths in New London

The community of New London mourns Andrew Johan Erickson born June 24 1837 in Sweden who died after a long life. He married Johanna Hansdotter in 1859 and emigrated to America in 1863 settling near New London. Funeral held at his residence with Rev C Swenson, pallbearers listed, burial at Lebanon cemetery. Also notes the death of Martin Syverson Hagen at age ninety in New London and a Halloween gathering hosted by the Junior Witches at Miss Alice McLaughlin’s home with themes of the sign of the black cat and prize games.
