Fatal Accident at New London Drayman Oscar Anderson killed in street incident

Oscar Anderson, a well known New London drayman, died Saturday morning after a load of cord wood caused his wagon to rear when a supporting stick broke. He fell under the wagon and was crushed, with witnesses Olof Ostlund and Cornelius Larson. Born March 28 1862 in Bruns parish Sweden he came to America in 1864. He leaves a widow Emma Monson and two children Walter and Stella. Funeral held at Leba non Lutheran church with Rev Seastrand.

In Kandiyohi Oct 31 Edward Lundquist married Miss Minnie Hallstrom in Red Wing. The couple will reside in Kandiyohi village where Lundquist works as agent for Interstate Elevator Co. They are wished a happy life together. Burns is adding to his house. George Norman of Minnesota Grain Co. visited his parents. Johnny Lenander, from Minneapolis, visited relatives. Charlie Borz of Genneses visited Kandiyohi.

Donor Baker Leaves for Des Moines Osteopathy College

Dr Adam Baker who has been practicing osteopathy in Willmar for over a year leaves for Des Moines Iowa to join the College of Osteopathy. He will assist in pathology and esterior? at the institution and assumes a lucrative new post. His departure is noted with regret by many friends who built a solid practice here. Dr L S Keyes, formerly of the Des Moines College of Osteopathy, arrives as his successor and comes well recommended.

The Young Ladies society plans a Thanksgiving day sale of homemade useful articles in Tripolis. Miss Alice Kiint led a recent meeting. Rev. A Lindholm will preach at Kandiyohi Schoolhouse at four on Sunday. Baptism occurred for Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Lundquist’s infant son John Paul Eversth. An offering will be taken for the Synodical mission next Sunday. Snowstorms last Sunday surprised residents. some money was stolen but recovered. Local weather notes speculate on approaching winter.

Attorney A T Nelson visited Kandiyohi county court last Thursday linked to Minnesota vs Eastern Union Telephone Co. Relators Nelson Ostrander appeal after mandamus writ in July seeks stock transfer. respondents Lisman Anderson favored by Judge Powers, writ quashed October 19 with costs. Lutheran Confirmation Service At Synod Church

A large class of 22 young people were confirmed by Rev. J. N. Anderson at the Synod church on Sunday morning despite stormy weather. Four women and eight men joined the Lutheran faith in a service noted for its decor, sermon from Psalms 73:23-24, and a missions offering of about $63.00. Belgrade at Oct 25 votes out last spring saloons and blinds pigs. Council and citizen committee gathered evidence and late at midnight rounded up Math Heinen Wa Lo rents and Clement Wesseling. They were fined 50 each by Justice Michaelson and Attorney Tullman of Paynesville, who collected payment. Citizens claim evidence includes gambling and slot machine violations and appeal to Attorney General Young. Further actions against persistent bootleg activity are expected.

Willmar and Litchfield High Meet In Drawn Gridiron Clash

The Willmar High football team traveled by train to Litchfield to meet the local high school on a muddy Saturday afternoon. After a lively start Litchfield forced a touchdown early but failed at the kick, and the remainder of the game produced no further scoring as both sides fought for every yard in a thrust and parry contest.
