Seminary Musical Event Draws Large, Applauding Audience

The Seminary hall program featured Misses Oamundson Walberg Hoglund in debut performances and Miss Sherman Ackerlund Reed, with praise from Supt. Foster for the Ethel Reed School of Music. A later item described a wagon accident injuring Mrs Iverson and husband, adding that Mrs Iverson is seriously disabled. The High School commencement program was announced for Park Assembly Auditorium, with a note that it will replace the Opera House as previously stated.

Dovre and Mamre Farmers Insurance Holds Annual Meeting

The Dovre and Mamre Farmers Insurance Company held its annual meeting in Willmar last Saturday with about fifty members present. The former board was reelected and the company reported prosperous standings with $1,590,277 in life insured across Kandigohio, Chippewa and Swift counties on 1017 policies. Total cash received was $1,955.19 and disbursements $1,320.60, including $826 in losses. Officers elected: J.P. Larson president, Jalmer Larson vice president, K. T. Rykken secretary, John Swenson treasurer, with C. C. Hanson and Ole O. Bergstrom as auditors.

Obituary of Rev J O Lundberg and Willmar deaths

Revered Rev J O Lundberg, Svea church pastor for twenty years, died May 29 after an apoplexy at Beckville Meeker County. Born 1851 in Sweden, ordained 1883 at Red Wing, served Svea and Christine churches. Survived by wife and ten children. Funeral at Svea with Willmar district pastors presiding. Separately, Andrew Nelson of Willmar died May 27 after erysipelas, aged 63. He ran a Willmar music business and leaves five children and several siblings. funeral at Synod church conducted by Rev J N Andersen. Commencement at Willmar Seminary on June 2 with Rev T A Hoff as speaker.

Sixteen Inning Battle Ends Willmar High School Season

Yesterday afternoon in Willmar the high school baseball team defeated the Town team 4 to 0 in 16 innings. Both pitchers were strong and defense steady as the Town led with a run in the second and later baserunning and hits. The High School tied and took the lead in the seventh, with a quiet scoreless stretch until Carlson scored in the sixteenth on a sacrifice. The newly organized team plans to have new suits soon.

State Hospital Contract Not Awarded at Willmar

Bids opened for the Willmar State Hospital project. John Lorentson of Fergus Falls offered about 214000 dollars as the apparent low bid, but after closer review the award was not yet decided. The Board of Control planned a session with the architect to finalize the outcome.
