Willmar Board of Control visits for hospital site

State Board of Control members Ringdal Halvorson and Vassaly visited Willmar last Monday to survey potential sites for the State Hospital for Inebriates. They seek a suitable alternative if the Thorpe farm side track from the Great Northern remains unavailable. Benson rout is canceled after a 6 to 4 loss to Willmar High. Grangaard and Smith lift Willmar with catches and a tied homer. Hengstler logs 15 strikeouts to Pederson's 11.

Willmar Farmers Mutual Fire & Lightning Holds Annual Meeting

The Willmar Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Company reported a strong year with losses at about 3000 dollars and expenses of 391.56. It shows 1015 policies valued at 1,862,320 dollars, up from 980 policies last year. Directors elected include D. F. Senechal and C. J. Swenson among nine named. The Great Northern Railway reimbursed 234 for service losses.

Board of Health Notice Revival Puzzle Contest

Board of Health announces a seven installment puzzle with cash prizes 2 1 and four others. Answers for the seventh installment must be mailed with a postmark no later than Tuesday June 1. Miss Anna Carlson visits New London for a week while a list details service terms of various political figures. James Shields served May 12, 1858 to March 3, Windom served about twelve years between July 1870 and March 1883. Stearns served Jan 18, 1871 to Mar 3, 1871. Washburn served March 4, 1889 to March 4, 1895. Knute Nelson elected March 14, 1895 and served. Moses Clapp elected Jan 28, 1901 and is now junior senator.

He praised the play A Curious Mishap at the opera house and urged demand for quality drama while noting the upcoming local baseball season with a home game schedule and lineup details.

Green Lake Chautauqua Season Plans Announced

The Green Lake Chautauqua association unveils a robust third season headlined by Gov. John A. Johnson and Ex-Gov. Joseph Folk. Notable speakers include Henry M. Spickler and James H. Batten, with Minnesota Ladies Symphony Orchestra and Arps Quartette performing. Seven baseball games against Willmar and other clubs are scheduled, plus boating, bathing, fishing, and ample lodging. season tickets cost $2.00, with 35 cent daily and 25 cent session admissions.
