Roise fires destroys major Marshall store and lodge
Roise and Co of this city sustain heavy loss in Marshall fire early Monday afternoon. The two story Syndicate block building housed Roise Co and several firms on the first floor and the Masonic lodge on the second. Entire building gutted with about 8400 000 total loss, insurers cover most. Fire started in the basement. cause unknown. Roise plans to reopen in a new building in about a week or ten days after settlement.

Bitten by Ugly Dog In Third Street Incident
Walter Grim, living with G. L. Young, was bitten by Frank Rose’s bird dog on Third Street. The dog sank its teeth into Grim’s left forearm, causing a painful wound. Dr. McLaughlin treated and bound the injury. The dog was held by police until terms of settlement with the owner were agreed upon. Mrs. J. J. Calkins visited relatives in Murdock and Appleton before returning to Willmar.
