Seventh District Republican Convention Opens in Willmar
The Seventh Congressional district GOP met in Willmar with Sen ator C. W. Odell presiding. A temporary chair was chosen and committees on credentials resolutions and organization were appointed. Delegates planned an after supper visit to the State Hospital and an Elk club smoker. A thirty minute recess followed.

The Willmar Republican district convention of May 15 1912 adopts credentials and lists elected delegates and alternates from Big Stone Chippewa Grant Kandiyohi Lac Qui Parle Lincoln Lyon Pope Redwood Renville Stevens Swift Traverse Yellow Medicine. It calls for a gubernatorial preferential primary and endorses Theodore Roosevelt and Senator La Follette while supporting Knute Nelson Moses Clapp and Congr Volstead. Delegates T T Olstun and M S Stevens elected to Chicago national convention with A J Johnson and A O Allen as alternatives.

Kandiyohi County Backing Lee In 1912 Minnesota Governor Race
Kandiyohi county marked the start of Minnesota's 1912 gubernatorial contest as Wm. Be. Lee of Long Prairie carried the county in last Saturday's primaries. He won Willmar by 41 votes and the county by 82 votes. Delegates pledged to him will outnumber his rival Gordon by roughly two to one, with a township vote tally and delegate list to be presented for the June 28 convention.
