St Olof Concert Band to Perform at Park Auditorium

The St Olof Concert Band directed by Prof F M Christianson performs at Park Auditorium on Wednesday May 21 at 8 00 pm. Alfa Lindana Coprana solos. Limited tour stops include Red Wing Fergus Falls Evansville Alexandria Willmar Benson Montevideo. Admission 60 cents. children 12 and under 25 cents. Tickets at the gate.

Willmar Soldier Olstad Returns Home From France

Private Olai R. Olstad of Willmar has arrived home from Camp Grant after extensive service with Company A of the 189th Infantry, 35th Division. He fought in Alsace Lorraine Argonne Forest St Mihiel Verdun and survived with luck. Also notes a building boom with new homes on multiple streets and local civic activities including assembly attendance and a marriage licenses update.

Chautauqua Set as Reconstruction Theme Opens June Dates

FH Oehler announces Chautauqua dates June 21 and 27 with a Reconstruction theme. Notable speakers include Lieut. A J Nielsen The Flying Parson, Dr Lyman Powell, Dr D D Vaughan, Dr Jas T Nichols, and international guests. Musical headliners span Ewings Overseas Military Band Amphion Four Liberty Bells and Royal Welsh Lady Singers. Entertainment includes The Henry magic act chalk talks and The Old Country Fiddler. The tent will be erected at the Aldrich site with a full program booklet forthcoming.

Shadow Social Postponed In Willmar District 63

The shadow social scheduled in Dist. 63 three miles west of Willmar is moved to Thursday evening May 22 instead of Friday May 23 as previously announced. Mr and Mrs Roelof Moe of the Bethesda Home departed by train for Granite Falls today.

Dr Malmgren Opens Dental Offices in Willmar

Dr R V Malmgren arrives from Young America to establish a Willmar practice. He will occupy the former Odell Manter offices in the Metropolitan Building and hopes to open May 16. A 1906 University of Minnesota graduate, he and his wife with two children moved to the area. The Tribune extends a welcome to the family.

Memorial Day Parade and Reception for County Servicemen

On Memorial Day May 1919 the Willmar Commercial Club will host a countywide celebration in Willmar with a parade at 11 am and free dinner at the pavilion after. Ex Congressman Clarence B Miller of Duluth will speak. Report in uniform at 10 am in the Court House.

Reed Nelson Wedding at Svea Farm Honors May 10 1819

The Nelsons of Svea hosted the wedding of their daughter Lottie Bertina to Hebaird W. Reed on Saturday evening May 10 1819. Rev J B Sorenson officiated at five o clock in the presence of about twenty relatives with a reception and social hours ending in a gift of fine silverware. The couple will reside on a farm near Raymond.

Quam Hamann Wedding Reported With Family Attendance

Miss Ella Marie Hamann and Russell were married in a quiet ceremony at the bride home with close relatives present. Ella is the daughter of Ernest Hamann of the city, and Russell has just returned from military service. The Tribune sends good wishes to the newlyweds. Hanson arrives from Dansville N Y where he served as company mechanic of the 62nd pioneer infantry. moved from Camp Wadsworth to New York. Private Harry Swenson, son of Mr and Mrs Swan Swenson of Svea, returned from front line service after being prisoner of war since Sept 26. Severt Aaseng on eleven day furlough from Camp Sherman Ohio, formerly cashier of Farmers' Security State Bank, has been in service ten months. Nels S Swenson returns from Minneapolis after three weeks of treatment at Minnesota Sanatorium. He plans to rest from business for a time.

Selma Lagerlöf the Authoress at Dreamland Theatre

Selma Lagerlöf the famous author is celebrated in a biographical feature. Born November 20 in Marbacks parish Sweden, she rose from a teacher to Nobel laureate and Academy member. Her tale The Girl From the Marsh Croft is adapted for the screen and shown at Dreamland Theatre Thursday and Friday May 16.
