Willmar Band Plans Grand Benefit Concert
The Willmar Military Band, rehearsing twice weekly, will stage a benefit concert on Friday night May 19 at the Park Assembly auditorium to raise funds for instructors and support for a thriving local band. Willmar High School will graduate a class of thirty this year. Commencement exercises are set for June 2 at 10 am in the high school auditorium and the evening program at 8 pm in the opera house. Miss Ethel Carlson and Miss Ethel Govig win top honors. many other named students listed. Junior-Senior reception at Carlson Hall featured penants, palms, and a luncheon with jonquils theme and yellow white decor. Mothers Day observed with white carnations honoring mothers both living and memory of those overseas.

Robbers stole over 200 dollars in stamps and a small amount of cash from Kandiyohi post office Tuesday night last week. They opened the door without breaking the lock and transferred the rifled safe, leaving quietly. No trace found yet, except several articles found by section men the next morning. A post office inspector is in charge. Church Festival at Prinsburg Marks 25th Anniversary. The Christian Reformed church observed its 25th year on May 2 with many attendees including Rev. H Schultz of Edgerton, its first pastor. The original small church was replaced by a newer, fine structure.
