Ballquist Johnson Wedding at Swan Hallquist Home

Annie Ballquist married Charlea A. Johnson on Thursday May 4 at 3 pm in Roseville. Rev. G Peterson officiated. procession included Emma Johnson as bridesmaid and Ludvig Carlson as best man. An elaborate 24 cover dinner followed. couple to reside on a farm east of Willmar. Best wishes from friends.

Willmar Band Plans Grand Benefit Concert

The Willmar Military Band, rehearsing twice weekly, will stage a benefit concert on Friday night May 19 at the Park Assembly auditorium to raise funds for instructors and support for a thriving local band. Citizens are urged to attend and show support for public performances. Luther Falk of Svea schools traveled to St Paul to discuss consolidating neighboring schools to offer agriculture courses with state aid guidance.

Royal Neighbors 15th Anniversary in Willmar

Royal Neighbors Maple Camp 384 celebrated its 15th anniversary in Willmar with members from Morris Benson Kerkhoven Kandiyohi Atwater and New London attending. About 26 to 30 new members were inducted amid a six o'clock dinner and a program featuring a 16 member drill team in purple and white sashes. The event concluded with music dancing and refreshments.

Tribune to Install Standard Linotype in June

The Willmar Tribune plans to install a standard linotype machine from the Mergenthaler Linotype Company of Brooklyn New York in June. The device cast one line of type at a time and will improve wide range printing and ad work, enabling quicker local jobs. Readers are asked to pay subscriptions soon to support this investment and the paper's goal to become a leading independent weekly in Kandiyohi County.

Willmar High to Graduate Class of Thirty

Willmar High School will graduate a class of thirty this year. Commencement exercises are set for June 2 at 10 am in the high school auditorium and the evening program at 8 pm in the opera house. Miss Ethel Carlson and Miss Ethel Govig win top honors. many other named students listed. Junior-Senior reception at Carlson Hall featured penants, palms, and a luncheon with jonquils theme and yellow white decor. Mothers Day observed with white carnations honoring mothers both living and memory of those overseas.

Robbers Escape With Kandiyohi Post Office Stamps

Robbers stole over 200 dollars in stamps and a small amount of cash from Kandiyohi post office Tuesday night last week. They opened the door without breaking the lock and transferred the rifled safe, leaving quietly. No trace found yet, except several articles found by section men the next morning. A post office inspector is in charge. Church Festival at Prinsburg Marks 25th Anniversary. The Christian Reformed church observed its 25th year on May 2 with many attendees including Rev. H Schultz of Edgerton, its first pastor. The original small church was replaced by a newer, fine structure. Entertained Eyelet Club Hosts Anniversary in Willmar

Mrs. H Gates hosted a Thursday Eyelet Club meeting with members and guests including Mrs. Alton Crosby Barbara Wright and Henry G Meyer. Embroidery, visiting and a luncheon followed by a May 4 1904 to May 4 1911 card remembrance marking seven years since Mrs Gates arrived in Willmar. A bouquet of pink and white carnations was presented as a keepsake of the occasion.

In Willmar the U S Superintendent of Construction Mr B C Adams learns from a Treasury telegram that he will soon move to Bellingham Washington to supervise a new building costing 215000 dollars. Henry Breck will arrive to take charge here. Limperich resigns and joins Willmar Tribune. Gov Rice of Morris travels with state officials to assess new buildings and dormitories at state agricultural schools. Miss Ethel Gallagher marries Joseph Bednorz in Benson, with a city home to follow.

Willmar Seminary baseball win at Kerkhoven Saturday

Willmar Seminary defeated Kerkhoven High School in a Saturday baseball game at Kerkhoven. Other local notes include Willmar High School’s 2 to 5 loss to Benson High School last Saturday and various civic and educational updates across Willmar and surrounding towns.
