Annual May Party at Eastern Star Lodge
The Eastern Star Lodge held its annual May Party last Friday at the Masonic Temple. The program featured a May Day drill by 16 boys and 1 girl, an umbrella song, piano solos by Stella Anderson and Muriel Witney, a violin solo by Dorothy Diffendorf, recitation by Wilbur Broberg, and a May Pole winding by twelve children. After the program, members enjoyed lunch and May baskets, then social time in the basement. Nearby, Mr. and Mrs. O. Gehlers and daughter of St Paul visited. Mrs. Karl L. James hosted ladies at her home. Andrew Danielson of St Paul visited August Danielson.

Rose Maiden cantata slated by Willmar Choral Club
The Willmar Choral Club plans to present the cantata The Rose Maiden at the opera house under Professor Henry E. Meyer of Morris. Members have trained three months, and the piece follows the fairy queen Roseblossom seeking love, culminating in tragedy and later happiness with a forester.

Norwegian Oratorical Contest At High School
Last Friday the high school auditorium hosted a successful program of music and orations. Miss Elvera Jacobsen won the silver medal, Miss Alma Bratberg took second with a silver spoon, and Miss Anna Knutson placed third with a book donated by Hon. L. C. Thorpe. Other contestants included Bernice Benson and several others. numbers featured vocal and piano solos and a tall by L. O. Thorpe. Prof. Melby praised the event as its first of its kind locally and a notable success.
