Will Johnson Wins His Case
District Court has made slow progress with just two cases disposed. In Shea versus Johnson the jury found for the defendant after four days of trial and 25 witnesses. Shea, a Minneapolis sugar broker, sued for 5100,000 for injuries from Johnson’s car last July. The jury ruled Shea contributed to the accident. A separate suit by Lars Tendal against the Great Northern for 810,000 yielded a verdict of 850. Tendal was injured when a box car wreck end caught his leg. Also noted: Willmar Commercial Club held its annual banquet with speeches by Senator Thorpe and others, and Mrs. Jennie Geer visits New London this week.
