Hannah Halvorson of Norway Lake visits Mrs T Alvig. Mary Wedge returns home from Monticello. Dr E H Frost hosts Minneapolis guest. Amy Thostenson returns from Willmar hospital. Attendees travel to St Cloud for missionary society convention.
The St Paul Symphony Orchestra under Walter Henry Rothwell performed in Willmar with 55 artists, featuring Mme Rothwell-Wolff and Kellerman. Highlights included Weber Oberon Overture, Tschaikowski Pheathetc, Wagner arias, Grieg Peer Gynt Suite, Carmen excerpts, and Pagliacci Prologue. The event, organized by Willmar Commercial Club, drew a large audience, with a modest deficit and plans for future shows.
Martin E. Tosterud of the Minnesota State Agricultural School and Prof C L McNelly of Willmar Associated Schools selected five farmers to host James J Hill farm demonstrations. Hill provides seed and formaldehyde, pays eight dollars an acre, and fertilizer is mixed into soil by five dishings. Two plats will be sown to wheat, two to barley, one to oats. Farmers A O Qvale Herman Tallakson and Robert Thompson agreed to participate. two more plats will be on adjoining farms near Willmar.
New car sales across several owners and makes are listed including Ford Runabout and Touring models from multiple buyers and dealers in Kandiyohi. Final citizenship papers date set for July 6 1912 with March filing window and requirements for declaration and two US sponsors. Elmer Giesne Norway Lake dies at 36 after a stroke. funeral planned next Friday at West Norway Lake church.
H J Ramsett learns of Edward Ramsett of Fin gal North Dakota dying suddenly at Fargo hospital. The middle aged single man was a brother to H J Ramsett and had visited the family here several times. Ramsett accompanies the remains to Briscol Vernon county Wisconsin, their old home.
Citizens urged to vote yes next Tuesday on the Telephone Ordinance. A yes vote lowers rates for those with phones and allows installation at $1 per month for nonowners. The new system promises dozens of county lines and better public communication without public treasury expense or city debt.
Personal illness reports and social events from the Willmar region include Peter Felt of Fahlun and Peter Berg both said to be seriously ill but improving, August Norman rumored as future Sven postmaster, Rev. Arvid Ostling returning from Chicago, Miss Cora Johnson hosting dinner, and Barbara Bradford announcing a spring millinery opening. Also noted are Amy Mattson’s appendicitis case, Carrie Peterson’s travel from Hawick to Willmar, Masonic lodge delegates to Atwater, and Mrs. James Sanderson’s birthday gathering at Litchfield Avenue with Havilland china prize.

The Willmar district pastors attended Bethel Willmar and Mamrelund meetings this week. Bethel choir provided a large, enjoyable song service. Willmar discussions focused on the Philadelphia church message from Revelation. Meetings closed with communion. A tentative pastorate change would join Mamre with a Swift County congregation and allow Willmar to seek a full-time pastor, pending ratification.
Percy Peterson, a veteran stonemason from St. Cloud, joins H. T. Olson and C. N. Grue to form Willmar Granite and Marble Works. The venture plans a 30 by 58 foot workshop with machinery for quarry-sourced monuments. Peterson closed the deal in Willmar, with two weeks of Swedish church meetings starting tomorrow led by Pastors Livingstone Ostling and Oberg.

Mabelle Strand, employed in St Paul, visits her parents in Willmar. E. W. Hanson family moved to W Litchfield Ave. Miss Amy Mattson of Svea arrives for appendicitis operation at Bethesda hospital. Misses Helgeson and Wolbert plan a new ladies tailoring shop about April 1 in Nelson Music Co. Maurice Eastman of Roseland, after appendicitis surgery, recovers well. L. E. Green Jr., pool champion of Sioux City, stopped in Willmar en route to Seattle. Hulda Anderson and brother Oscar hosted friends on Jessie street Friday night.
