Distressing Auto Dent Occurs at St Paul
A severe road accident at Sibley and Lexington in St Paul injured two Willmar men, Walter L. Hanscom and Chas L Hillstrom, who are both recovering. Hillstrom suffered scalp wounds, Hanscom was pinned and rib injuries and a broken breastbone. Hillstrom’s daughter Winnefred, six, survived unharmed. The truck driver cut the corner and struck Hillstrom’s car, flipping it onto a hydrant. Hanscom is manager of Wonder Novelty Co in St Paul. Hillstrom is a traveling salesman for Funk Bohnen Candy Co. The two are brothers-in-law.

Willmar mourns Henry Johnson a long time businessman who died at midnight March 19 after a weeks illness. He was born March 29 1878 in Whitefield Township later moving to Willmar and starting his business with his father. He married Christine Glad in 1903 and leaves a daughter Helen Lucile, his mother Mrs John Johnson a sister Mrs T Gilbert two brothers Edwin L and James Russell and many relatives. Funeral was held last Sunday at the Lutheran Free church with Nicolay Nilsen officiating.

Verne Allen Hudson a U S Air Service aviator died of influenza at his home. He was born in 1900 in Minnesota and lived in the west for 15 years. His cremated ashes were sent in a urn dropped from a Seattle 63rd Art plane at 2000 feet to a throng of thousands. This display marks a unique American burial with a cremation in an air ceremony.

Obituary Mrs Britta Erickson of Lake Lillian Passes
Mrs Britta Erickson long a resident of Lake Lillian died March 19 1919 after a sudden stroke at age 77. Born in Gagnel Dalarne Sweden on December 12 1841 she came to America in 1872 settling with her family on the farm where she lived 47 years. A faithful Christine Lutheran member for 44 years she left a husband Ole Erickson and four sons Erick John Albert and Alfred and a daughter Anna also seven grandchildren. Funeral services were at the residence and Christine church with Pastor Berg officiating and special songs rendered by Ruth and Eather Erickson Myrtle Englund and Mrs Oscar Linn. The cortege included relatives and neighbors from Christine and Niobe.
