A large Willmar crowd gathered Monday evening to discuss the approaching city election. Dr Johnson urged candor on ticket origins and questioned a local paper's franchise report. Citizens urged restraint on city spending and endorsed a petition with speeches by Hilleboe Forsberg and Williams.

Death of Peter E Reese Pioneer Resident Dies at 80

Peter Erickson Reese Riis an early Lake Andrew resident died after a three month illness at his home near Lake Andrew at 1 am aged 80 years. He was born in 1823 in Skedsmoe Norway and served in the Danish Prussian war. He emigrated to America in 1861, settled in St. Cloud then Lake Andrew. Survived by wife Maurie and five children C M Reese Minneapolis, Mrs C M Marboe Minneapolis, Mrs P A Odell Willmar, Arnt and Julia Reese Lake Andrew, plus three brothers in Norway and four sisters in Faribault county. Funeral was held Thursday at East Norway Lake church with Rev D C Jordath officiating.

Willmar Will Land 260 Acre Farm For Ruble Block Deal

A real estate transaction completed yesterday involves Henry Ames of Litchfield trading his Walnut Grove Stock and Dairy Farm of 260 acres two and a half miles from Litchfield for the Ruble block on Firsh street in Willmar. The Willmar property, a three story brick block, is a prime commercial asset with modern facilities and ample storage, and the deal is valued around 840,000.

Poorhouse at Spicer rental approved for Olson property

The William Olson residence in Spicer is leased by county commissioners for one year as a county poorhouse. Isaac Olson will oversee and manage the site, with a rent of 246 dollars annually and 20.50 per month. The plan includes furnishing bedrooms by the county and a weekly board allowance for inmates. Three rooms reserved for the Olson family. Ready by April 1 near Greenlake.
