A fast freight train eastbound on the Sioux Falls line near Russell wrecked last Friday morning, ditching four cars and killing a horse and cow to end their suffering. Conductor H. S. Ferguson was in charge and emigrants aboard suffered a shaking, though overall traffic was not greatly disrupted.

Seminary Juniors Show Off Talent At Meeting

Mrs. Fred Smithson Sr. died Thursday March 5 after a complication of maladies. Born June 3 1833 in Lynnville Illinois, she moved with her family to St Cloud in 1863 and Roseville in 1865. Survived by sons A J Smithson Fred Smithson and E S Smithson, all prosperous farmers. Funeral March 8 at home. Rev Peterson of Paynesville officiated. Interment at Hawick Cemetery. A friend.

Mission Church Marks Twentieth Anniversary

Wm Gilger departed last Saturday for a voyage across the water to Alsace Lorraine Germany his old home not seen since 1873 He aims to visit his aged mother now 93 and fears she may not live much longer Friends wish him a pleasant trip and a safe crossing. John Stoolheim and family moved to Willmar Minnesota. Skoolheim a Minneapolis foreman has overseen major construction work for Metropolitan Music Company block and Powers arcade. A Masonic lodge of twenty was formed at Raymond with twelve from the local Chapter joining. Russell Spicer of Willmar oversaw the proceedings. Oscar Skoglund of Woods town visited his brother Victor under surgical care at Frost hospital.
